We Support Salt and Light
Salt and Light is an action-based Christian ministry dedicated to providing for those in need in Champaign County, Illinois. Their services include weekly food and clothing distribution, weekly worship, financial counseling, and training via Dave Ramsey’s Financial Peace University. In food distribution alone, they fed over 44,500 individuals between January 2010 and September 2010, and gave away nearly 600,000 pounds of food. Additionally, in that same time period, they distributed nearly 65,000 articles of clothing. In a county where almost 8,000 children live in poverty (according to the Champaign County: Snapshot of Poverty, Income and Health Insurance report, 2010), Salt and Light continues to help so many in the midst of difficult times and desperate needs.
